About SUNO.click
SUNO.click is an independent audio engineering, DSP and mastering reference portal. It publishes practical, technically accurate guides on mixing, dynamics, mastering, loudness and studio acoustics for people who produce and finish music themselves.
Our mission
Most production advice online comes in one of two shapes: long videos that take twenty minutes to reach the point, or quick tips with no explanation of why they work. SUNO.click aims for the space in between: written references you can read in a few minutes, keep open during a session, and actually understand.
Good mixing isn't about secret settings. It's about listening carefully, making small decisions for clear reasons, and checking the result. Every guide here tries to give you three things: the concept, concrete starting values (in Hz, dB, ms and LUFS), and a way to verify the result with your ears and your meters.
What you'll find here
- Mixing: parametric EQ, vocal signal chains, kick, bass and 808 management, reverb and delay.
- Dynamics: compression topologies, true peak limiting and loudness.
- Mastering: a full mastering workflow, plus finishing songs made with AI generators.
- Acoustics & DSP: gain staging, stereo imaging and phase, room acoustics and monitoring, and the plugins that actually matter.
- Reference tools: a glossary of audio terms and a BPM delay and reverb calculator.
Who writes SUNO.click
SUNO.click is written by an audio producer and sound engineer who writes, records, edits, mixes and masters his own music. His day-to-day work covers vocal production and editing, stem separation and cleanup, mixing, and mastering for streaming release. He started SUNO.click to publish the kind of reference notes he wanted when he was learning: the numbers, signal chains and checks that actually come up in real sessions, explained without hype.
How guides are written and tested
Every guide on SUNO.click follows the same editorial method:
- Tried on real material. Settings and signal chains are worked through on real vocals, drums, bass and full mixes, not copied from plugin manuals.
- Level-matched comparisons. Processing is judged by A/B comparison at matched loudness, so "louder" is never mistaken for "better".
- Measured, then listened to. Loudness (ITU-R BS.1770 LUFS), true peak, phase correlation and spectrum analysis are used to confirm what the ears hear, not to replace them.
- Checked for translation. Results are checked on studio headphones, near-field monitors, earbuds, a phone speaker and in mono.
- Grounded in standards. Technical figures refer to published standards (such as ITU-R BS.1770 and EBU R128) and to the platforms' own documentation. Where figures can change, such as streaming loudness references, the guides say so.
- Presented as starting points. Every source and room is different, so numbers are where to begin, not rules.
Corrections and updates
Each guide shows the date it was last updated. If you spot an error or something that has changed, please get in touch. Corrections are made promptly, and guides are revised when standards, platforms or tools change.
